TAG72 Day Catamaran – Description

The TAG 72 DC performance day charter catamaran has been designed to attract the clientele with its fast sporty signature Greg Young styling and then to sail well with a high fun factor. All in all the next generation day sailing catamaran to suit both the needs and wants of the day charter guest and the operator.

A lot of thought has also gone into maximising space and the comfort of the guests. There is enough seating and lounging day beds for all the guests. Provision has also been made to store personal belongings in safe lockers and under the seating provided.


Further to that there is a good combination of sun lounging areas and some covered areas to provide a comfort range for all. The aft covered bridge deck provides sun, wind and rain shelter. It is also the space used to serve meals from the the twin XL BBQs and the twin galley counters. Drinks are served from the bar counter centrally located for the fore and aft decks.

The guests have a choice of lounging on the for deck, aft deck either in the outboard loungers or more sheltered on the aft deck. There is a VIP deck on the flybridge for 12 guests to enjoy the view and sun.

For the more active and party crowd there is a dedicated DJ station with 2 large TV screens to create a fun vibe for any type of party. The entertainment system has 3 zones to provide a variety of fun and relaxation.


The entire bridge deck is one level making it easy to move around. With the stacking doors open one has free flow access to the foredeck. These stacking doors can be closed for inclement weather to provide a comfortable aft deck in windy or colder weather. This is vital to enable the TAG 72 DC to operate for longer periods to maximise the day charter season for the operator whilst still giving the guests a comfortable environment. “Access to the water is easy via the wide aft transoms with sturdy composite swim ladders and also a swim staircase on the foredeck. There is a fresh water wash down shower at each of these points.

Ablutions facilities include 2 x Toilets for Ladies and 2 x Toilets for men, each with their own lobby in separate hulls. Each hulls also has a locker room space with individually lockable pigeon hole lockers for guests.


The TAG 72 provides a versatile platform for a variety of charter styles. For early morning charters to a snorkelling destination, lunch cruises, full day and sunset cruises, and relaxed dinner parties with an ambiance provided by a variable lighting system. Fun parties can also be catered for with a private DJ. This gives the operator maximum use and opportunity to run a successful charter business.


For the crew running the yacht there is ample storage for all required to run an efficient charter. The vessel is easy to clean with low maintenance finishes. There is also good room in the service areas to easily maintain the vessels systems. There is also a small crew cabin provided to enable live aboard crew or to move the boat to different charter grounds.

With the higher performance rig the vessel is constructed with epoxy resins to ensure a stiff, strong platform that will last for years. The sail functions are operated from the dual central helm stations on the flybridge. The skipper has a good view ahead and is able to operate the yacht mostly single handedly. Docking is also easy from the elevated view point.
